What is the status of this page?

I do not see it listed on commonjs.org at all.

registry root url

Schema does not seem to add value to package identification. http://registry.npmjs.org/ and https://registry.npmjs.org/ are the same repository. Some of the tarball links in https://registry.npmjs.org/ return http://registry.npmjs.org/... urls. Seems confusing. How about just making a registry host a registry root url (i.e. all schema and ports variants are considered equal).
